Towards the middle of this month, we will be shifting into the 5th season according to Traditional Chinese Medicine. As summer melts into autumn, there’s a whole different season dedicated to this time of the year, that is represented by the Earth element and rules the digestive system.
After the Summer Solstice in June we have already entered the ‘yin’ phase of the year, and we gently began descending into our inner worlds, moving towards the winter solstice (even if it feels ages away).
Maybe it’s the knowing that the heat of summer is over, that awakens this feeling that we need to soak in as much as we can, but I always fall in love even deeper with summer these weeks. The ripe stone fruits, the second batch of smaller but even sweeter figs hanging from my mother’s fig tree, seemingly the golden hours lengthening and painting everything with a warm tone of orange.
I have never faced as many of my fears as I have this year so far, it felt like a never ending battle of new challenges daring me to step my faith up in myself. It’s only now as half of the year has passed that these shifts are becoming bright and clear. They have felt unbearably minuscule, from the day to day, like moving through thick mud where the smallest step took enormous efforts and felt like I wasn’t moving at all. This inner marathon is not over yet, but I am dedicated to celebrate how far I have come daily. (I’m done with 8 months of my GP residency training, only 3 months of intensive training at the ER is left as my challenge for this year, smoother waters are following beyond that…)
This is the season to devour the fruits of our labour, to ground down and integrate all that has happened. The season is ruled by the digestive organs after-all. There could not be a more feminine practice than this, receiving fully in and alchemizing, building from it all.
~ I have recorded a short practice that you can come back to during these weeks:
Snack sized Grounding Practice for the Month
~ There are also a few new opportunities opening up to work together with me:
One last spot is open to work with me either for a 4 or a 10 weeks long journey 1:1 online
Watch out for new water therapy session slots that I’m announcing a week ahead, there’s space for one person left for next Tuesday morning at Dagály.
~ We are still expecting a few last women to join us for our Feast of the Goddess Retreat 15-18th of August, for which we offer a generous last minute discount! Email me for further into
I hope you have a beautiful start to the month!
Love,
Zsófi
